Trust tiers & settlement
How results are settled, why GLHF-run servers settle instantly, and how disputes work.
How a result is decided
GLHF settles from the most authoritative evidence available for a match. Evidence is ranked by a trust ladder — the stronger the proof, the less human review is needed.
- Parsed match demo (canonical) — the strongest proof; can settle on its own.
- Official game API results — canonical for supported titles.
- Live game telemetry (GSI / live client) — real-time, but only trusted on a server we operate.
- Screenshot / video OCR — a supporting signal.
- Manual self-report — a bare claim, used only when nothing stronger exists.
GLHF-run servers vs. custom servers
On a GLHF-operated server, our plugin reports the result and — because we run the box — that live feed is trusted, so the match settles automatically and fast.
On a custom server we don’t operate, a live feed can’t be trusted on its own (the host could shape it). So a result on a custom server settles through a report and a dispute window, and a lone machine feed will never quietly pay out on its own — it goes to review unless it’s backed by a demo or agreed by both sides.
This is deliberate: real money never settles on a result nobody could verify.
Reports, the dispute window & disputes
After a match, the result is reported. If both sides agree, it settles immediately. If only one side reports, a dispute window opens — the other side has time to confirm or challenge it.
To challenge a result, open a dispute and attach your evidence (for CS2, the match demo). A demo is re-parsed on our end and, if it clearly shows the outcome, it decides the match. Where a result genuinely can’t be established, the wager is voided and every stake is returned.
