How wagering works

Create or join a match, both stakes are escrowed, the winner takes the pot minus a small house fee.

The basics

GLHF is a peer-to-peer marketplace for skill-based match wagers on games you play. You put up a stake, an opponent matches it, you play the match, and the winner takes the pot less a small house fee. Outcomes come from your play and verified game telemetry — never from chance.

You can create an open challenge on the marketplace, send a direct 1v1 challenge to a friend, run a team match (including clan-vs-clan), or enter a bracket tournament.

Escrow

When a match fills, every player’s buy-in is moved into a locked escrow account. Nobody can withdraw a staked buy-in mid-match. On settlement, escrow pays out to the winning side and the house fee is taken — the books always balance to zero.

The house fee (rake)

A small percentage of the pot is the house fee. It is frozen onto your wager at the moment you create or join it, so later changes to the fee only affect new matches — never one you are already in.

Holding $GLHF lowers your fee. Staking tiers apply a per-player discount that is also frozen in at match time. See Deposits & payouts for how proof-of-hold staking works.
